5. Handling Uncollected Children

• Wait for 5–10 Minutes: Remain at the collection point for a short time to accommodate late arrivals.
• Follow Protocol:
  • If the parent has not arrived after this time, take the child to the school office or contact the parents using the emergency contact details on the register.
  • If the parent cannot be reached or the school office is closed, escort the child to the after-school care program.
• Never Leave a Child Unsupervised:
  • Under no circumstances should a child be left alone.
  • Leaving a child unsupervised is a severe breach of duty of care, and you would be held liable if any harm were to come to them.
